Last September, Morrissey announced that, due to diminishing interest from British labels, his shows in London that month would likely be his last in the UK. “We are obsessively grateful for all interest and loyalty from our audience … throughout 28 years,” he wrote, “but without new releases, there is no point in any additional touring.” Well, he’s changed his mind. On August 20, Moz will play a show at Manchester Arena—to his credit, it’s his only UK date this year, alongside a string of international shows. It also marks his first Manchester concert since 2012. Damien Dampsey will support.
