Rob Thomas’ 4th solo LP, Chip Tooth Smile, arrived in April. Spearheaded by lead single, “One Less Day (Dying Young),” the album showcases the Matchbox Twenty singer’s melodic brand of pop/rock and knack for wearing his battered and bruised heart on his sleeve. That’s particularly true of “Can’t Help Me Now,” which finds the 47-year-old struggling to stay afloat in a relationship. “I stumble in the dark, tripping on a heart,” he sings on the chorus. “It’s gonna leave a mark, maybe we can stay and wait it out.”
However, it doesn’t look like there’s going to be a happy ending this time around. “You’re the one that talks me down and even you can’t help me now,” Rob laments. The video arrived on Friday (August 2) and it is comprised of footage from the first leg of the Chip Tooth Tour. And if this is any indication, the rocker sure knows how to put on a show. The tour resumes on August 16 in Port Chester, NY and stops in more than a dozen different cities before winding up in Napa, CA on September 28. Get a taste of Rob’s live show below.
