“Weird Al” Yankovic is finding new and inventive ways to showcase his catalog. Earlier this year the musician performed only his original compositions on his Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour. Today, Weird Al announced his Strings Attached Tour that will see him backed by a full symphony orchestra.
The massive Nothern American summer run promises to feature his “usual big production – costumes, props, video wall – supported by his band, background singers, and…a full symphony orchestra!” The lengthy 61-date tour kicks off on June 5 at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida and wraps three-months later on September 1 at the Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas. In between the Strings Attached Tour will hit cities in the Northeast, South, Midwest and West Coast. Tickets for most shows go on sale Friday, November 16 at 10 a.m. local time.
