Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and his band Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets will soon make their North American debut with a tour set to take place next March and April. This week’s Sunday Cinema features the group that focuses on early-Pink Floyd albums such as The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and A Saucerful Of Secrets.
Mason last toured North America with Pink Floyd on the Division Bell Tour in 1994. Since then, his only appearances on the continent were during sit-ins with roger-waters in 2006. Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets features the drummer along with Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp, longtime Pink Floyd touring bassist Guy Pratt, guitarist Lee Harris and keyboardist Dom Beken.
Here’s multi-cam video footage via Music And Fireworks of the band in action from their performance on September 3 at Forum Black Box in Copenhagen, Denmark. Early-era Floyd favorites such as “Interstellar Overdrive,” “Astronomy Domine,” “Fearless,” “Arnold Layne,” “Bike” and the group’s namesake “Saucer Full Of Secrets” appear throughout the setlist. There are also lesser-known selections such as “Lucifer Sam” and “The Nile Song.” Watch the full show below:
