Mumford & Sons continue to roll out tracks from Delta, their first album of new material in three years. The English folk-rock act has previously shared “Guiding Light,” and now have released “If I Say.”
The band’s multi-instrumentalist Ben Lovett, who wrote the tune, talked about its origins on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show for Apple Music. “I was actually asleep in an apartment in New York, and I dreamt this song. Then, I went into my bathroom and recorded it on my voice memo at 3:00 a.m.,” Lovett shared. “I sent it everyone the next morning and they were like, ‘Yup, okay.
