A man and woman have died on the first day of Scotland’s T in the Park festival, the Guardian reports. Police are investigating the unexplained deaths, which appear to be separate. More than 80,000 people attend the festival, which moved site last year due to safety concerns. Festival director Geoff Ellis said (via the BBC), “We are shocked and saddened by today’s news and our thoughts are with the families and friends at this time. We are offering our full support and assistance.”
As well as the two deaths, the festival appears to have been the site of a mass brawl shortly after gates opened, according to the Guardian. Video posted on social media shows bare-chested men fighting as onlookers scream.
