The television reboot starring Ryan Phillippe was filming in Santa Clarita, Calif., when the accident occurred.
A stuntman on USA Network’s upcoming show Shooter has been injured on set.
While filming the series on Wednesday in Santa Clarita, Calif., at the Agua Dulce Airport, a stuntman was run over by a Cadillac SUV. According to TMZ, who first broke the news, castmember Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan) was driving the vehicle.
“An adult male was struck by a vehicle and partially trapped underneath it,” said Battalion 22 Fire Chief Darus Ane, according to the Santa Clarita Signal newspaper. “The man was extricated prior to Fire
[Department] arrival … The patient is stable at this time.”
A helicopter airlifted the stuntman to a local hospital, leaving the scene of the incident at 12:48 p.m. The man’s condition is unknown at this time. Reps for Sizemore had no comment on the incident.
Shooter, which was picked up to series in February and hails from Paramount TV and Universal Cable Productions, is based on the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film about an American marksman on the run from the U.S. government. Wahlberg serves as an executive producer on the 10-episode drama, which stars Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps and Sizemore. The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, July 19, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
