Sonic Youth have announced a new series of reissues. Remastered versions of 2002’s Murray Street, 2004’s Sonic Nurse, and 2006’s Rather Ripped will be out on July 15 via Universal Music Enterprises. They are remastered from the original stereo analog master tapes, and will be available on vinyl, as well as digitally with new HD audio.
The new reissues are part of UMe’s effort to reissue the band’s DGC/Geffen Records catalog. Earlier this year, the label put out new vinyls of Goo, Dirty, and Washing Machine, as well as a 12” of “The Diamond Sea.” To complete the program, UMe are planning to reissue A Thousand Leaves, Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star, and NYC Ghosts & Flowers later this year.
