On Monday, July 11, the VH1 Hip Hop Honors will return for the first time since 2010. The event has been dubbed “All Hail the Queens” and “will pay homage to the female pioneers, trailblazers and trend-setters” in hip-hop, according to a press release. Among the honorees is Missy Elliott, who will get a special tribute from Pharrell, Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Remy Ma, Trina, Eve, Tweet, Keyshia Cole, Raven Symone, Monica, Fantasia, and Jazmine Sullivan.
In addition to Missy, VH1 will honor Queen Latifah, Lil’ Kim, and Salt-n-Pepa featuring Dj Spinderella. Latifah’s tribute will feature Common, Naughty by Nature, Da Brat, MC Lyte, Rah Digga, Suga T, and Yo-Yo; she will also perform her song “Ladies First.” Eve will host the VH1 Hip Hop Honors, which airs Monday, July 11 at 9 p.m. Eastern, live from David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
