Gold Panda has released a surprise EP, Kindgom, which was inspired by the recent Brexit vote. According to FACT, the producer wrote in a press release that he was inspired to make the EP after talking to an Afghan neighbor who had an unpleasant experience with a deliveryman. “He ordered a phone off Amazon so he could call home, but the delivery driver signed for it and kept it,” Gold Panda wrote. “I thought this was a pretty shitty welcome. I made a couple of less happy songs that are very very loosely based around that and my Brexit fears, which were sadly confirmed.” He clarified in a tweet that he did not say he’s “anti-brexit,” but did vote “‘remain.’” The EP is available for purchase on his Bandcamp. Find Kindgom’s tracklist below, as well as a stream. Gold Panda’s last album, Good Luck and Do Your Best, was released last May.
