In the last month, you’ve had two shootings, one of which was the most deadly shooting in all of America’s history,” Hank said. “So we want to pause in the midst of this exciting night… we can to pause and say a prayer, a prayer of healing.”
Day then joined the two singers on stage for a bare, piano-led rendition of “Rise Up,” with all three singers trading lines before coming together on the chorus. As they sang, the name and ages of those killed in the Pulse shooting were projected on the large screen behind them.
As TMZ notes, Lovato and Jonas invited the Pulse staff to the Orlando concert, where the employees were given VIP treatment.
