Watch David Gilmour perform Pink Floyd’s “One of These Days” live again for the first time since 1994.
David Gilmour dug deep into Pink Floyd’s catalogue at a recent concert in Warsaw, Poland and played “One of These Days,” the opening track to the 1971 LP Meddle, for the first time since Floyd’s 1994 tour. The concert, which is part of the singer and guitarist’s Rattle That Lock tour, was broadcast on television.

The Polish audience immediately recognized the song and cheered, as Gilmour came out with a pair of tom-toms and played along with the percussion section before stepping over to a lap-steel guitar for the tune’s iconic, soaring solo. At the midway point, an ominous voice – drummer Nick Mason’s on the Meddle recording – threatens, “One of these days I’m going to cut you into little pieces.” Despite the song’s sentiment, Gilmour and the band are all smiles throughout the performance.
Earlier in the day, a fan captured video of the stage where Gilmour & Co. were rehearsing the track at soundcheck. At the end of it, a handful of lucky fans cheered and clapped.
Gilmour will be taking the Rattle That Lock tour around Europe this summer. His next stop is a two-night stand at the Italian amphitheater where the concert film Pink Floyd at Pompeii was shot in 1971. It will be his first time performing there since the filming and first there with an actual audience, as the movie showed the group playing to an empty auditorium.
