Good things come to those who wait, and in this case the “good thing” is God Of Atheists. For those unaware, the band consists of ex-Borknagar drummer-turned-guitarist Asgeir Mickelson, bassist Lars K. Norberg of Spiral Architect, Arcturus/ex-Dimmu Borgir vocalist ICS Vortex, ex-Emperor members Ihsahn on keyboards and Trym on drums, ex-Tristania singer Vibeke Stene, ex-Arcturus guitarist Carl Tidemann and Ram-Zet violinist Sareeta. Y’know, a lineup worth waiting for.
The last we heard from the group was late 2015 where some minor setbacks had screwed things up a bit, but now things seem to be a little more back on track than they were. Mickelson has previously stated that he could get other people to finish up the record, but he wants one solid lineup for the album and he’s not in a rush.
This project was announced in 2012 anyway, so it’s not like we’ve only been waiting a few months and we just can’t stand another few weeks – it’ll get here when it gets here. So 2016 doesn’t seem like a feasible timeframe for the record, but maybe 2017?
