Update: It’s legit. Crystal Castles have shared the “Femen” video on Facebook, calling it a “preview.”
Electronic duo Crystal Castles — now comprising founding member Ethan Kath and replacement singer Edith Frances — have something up their sleeve. Yesterday we found their new song “Concrete” streaming early via a service in Korea, and today, a music video titled “Femen” has popped up on a newly-created Vimeo account registered to the band. The somewhat depressing clip features birds caught in mist nets, which biologists use to capture live specimens (so don’t worry, they’re probably okay).
We can’t confirm the provenance, but there are YouTube clips of the group playing “Femen” in Peru and Colombia earlier this month. SPIN has reached out to Crystal Castles to confirm. Meanwhile, check out “Femen” below.
