John Newman has shared a new song called “Olé,” co-written by Calvin Harris. It’s told from the perspective of somebody whose “low key” partner is in a public relationship with another man. Unsurprisingly, most of the internet assumes it’s about Harris’s recently dissolved relationship with Taylor Swift. The song’s opening words, “low key,” could be a reference to Tom Hiddleston—apparently Swift’s new partner—who played Loki in Thor, TMZ points out. The lyrics include missives like this: “I see online that you begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend/Being attentive, continue to pretend.” References to secretive hotel bookings and hidden phone conversations abound. The TMZ reading is, “Olé” indicates no animosity towards the other man in the picture. According to their “Calvin sources,” Harris holds Swift fully accountable for Hiddleston’s attraction to her. Swift’s team, for their part, claim Harris was writing the song before Hiddleston showed up. Enter the labyrinth below.
